Olight H15S flashlight x 1
- Great head torch one of many o light torches I own,not cheap, but you get the quality, all products from this company are very well made and using good robust materials, they feel great in the hand and you will not be disappointed in any product in the o light range. Great delivery.
- The Olight H15S Wave is a lovely little light and, a first for me, it can be operated by, wait for it…..’Waving’ your hand in front of the lamp. Hence the name H15S Wave!
The light itself is a variable output LED sensor headlamp. Meaning that you have the choice of different power outputs, High – 250/200 Lumen, Medium – 100/85 Lumen and Low, 15/12 lumen. (Without/with diffuser) and the light is emitted by an LED. In the case of this headlamp it’s the Cree XM-L2, the same as the M18 Maverick and several other lights in the range. The ‘Piece de resistance’ is the Sensor bit for me. There are IR sensors in the lamp enabling you to turn it on and off by a Jedi wave of the hand. What’s even better is that when you turn the lamp off via said wave of hand, 2 red IR LED emitter remain on. Very Darth Vader! So, the light is very cool but is it any good. In a word, Yes.
- I am an outdoorsy person living on a rural farm lane without a streetlamp (or street) in sight so once autumn arrives, our evenings and nights are completely back making a torch or headtorch essential.
Most of the better headtorches are CREE LED producing a super-bright light but at the expense of wearing a large, bulky and heavy battery pack at the back of the head or, in some cases, a separately-wired battery pack carried in the pocket. This headtorch is very different and overcomes the inconvenience and weight of the usual CREE LED models by using a lightweight and non-bulky battery of a design more commonly associated with cameras. It’s easy and comfortable to wear without being cumbersome.
